Your monthly support of LSS has the power to impact individual lives and make our community a better place for ALL. And, because we can count on your regular support, we can more efficiently budget our resources and reduce expenses to meet the growing need for our comprehensive, client-centered services. Being a monthly donor is one of the most impactful ways to give.

Consider becoming a Faithful Friend and investing in people who are desperately in need of hope and the knowledge that people do care. Your compassion can make an incredible difference.

Matching Gift From Your Company

Many employers have matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. To find out if your company has a matching gift program, how much they will match, and how to initiate the match, please go to this link and enter your employer’s name in the search box.

If your employer’s name does not appear in the search results, please check with your company’s human resources department. If your company does not currently offer a matching gift program, please consider asking them to establish one.

Stock or Other Assets

A gift of appreciated securities, such as stocks, bonds or mutual funds, can be a wonderful alternative to making cash contributions and offers some tax advantages.  Contributing appreciated securities that have been owned for more than one year provides the opportunity to make an impactful gift to LSS while avoiding capital gains tax.  You will receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the stock, bond or mutual fund.  This value is calculated utilizing the mean between the highest and lowest quoted selling price on the date the security is delivered.

Legacy for Hope Society

The Legacy for Hope Society recognizes caring individuals who support the mission of Lutheran Social Services.  By remembering LSS in their estate plans, they’ve chosen to be a future blessing to those in need… just as God has blessed them during their lifetimes. Society members help guarantee the future of LSS through their wills and other estate gifts.  Estate gifts may be unrestricted or designated to a specific LSS program. Simply include LSS in your estate planning and be sure to let us know!

Partnership Opportunities

LSS would like to form long-term partnerships with corporations and organizations that offer reach and revenue to support our mission and the thousands of people we serve. We will work with you to help develop ways to give that match your philanthropic and community involvement goals. Our objective is to create a partnership that is mutually beneficial.

Employee Giving

When you and your employees work together to make a difference in our community, your company receives even more in return — more workplace satisfaction, better team morale and that great feeling that comes from helping others. Your company can help LSS at any time during the year by including us during your company’s Annual Giving Campaign or the Combined Federal Campaign.

Cause Marketing

Show your customers you care and help drive sales by working with us on a cause related marketing campaign.  A 2015 Cone Communications study showed that when choosing between two brands of equal quality and price, 90% of U.S. shoppers were likely to switch to a cause related product.

There are many ways that your company can work with LSS to achieve your business objectives and serve our mission including: donating a percentage of sales from your products, services or events; developing innovative co-branded products for sale; or hosting a customer donation program such as a register “round-up”.

Our goal is to create a campaign that is mutually beneficial. Please print and review our Fundraising Guidelines for more information. Adherence to these guidelines are mandatory.

You must receive approval from and enter into an agreement with LSS before engaging in any cause marketing partnership. Please complete and the form below to help our team understand the type of campaign you are proposing.

Matching Gifts

Knowing donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar is a powerful incentive for any donor. Show you care about the community and people in need by offering a corporate match of associate gifts to LSS. If you don’t have a matching gift program, please consider starting one. It’s one of the most powerful ways to give.

STEP ONE: REVIEW OUR Fundraising Guidelines

We appreciate your support of LSS, and we want your event to be a success! The services that LSS Network of Hope programs provide are vital to our community. Your adherence to the these guidelines is required. We encourage you to print them out and use them as your guide during the planning process.

STEP TWO: COMPLETE AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION

After reviewing the event guidelines, please complete and submit the Fundraising Application. We will contact you within one week upon receipt of this application to discuss your event and the approval process.

STEP THREE: PLAN YOUR EVENT

As you plan, download these helpful hints and tips to aid you in planning your fundraiser.

STEP FOUR: SHARE YOUR SUCCESS

Your event is over, and it went off without a hitch! While you’re celebrating your event’s success, make sure to submit your donation to our office within 30 days. Timeliness is encouraged and may affect approval of future events for your organization.

Also, please share your story with us! We’d love to hear about your efforts. Your success story might be highlighted in an upcoming newsletter, on our website or on social media.

Please send the following details to mcostlow@lssnetworkofhope.org within seven days of your event.

• Event name
• Name of organizer and organization name
• Brief description of the event
• 2 or 3 large-size photos of the event
• Links or tags to your organization’s social media
